Perfumed Garden Villa

The Perfumed Garden is the latest addition to Life in Amed: a beach house inspired by the Javanese joglo, built with antiques, reclaimed vintage wood, handmade tiles and furnishings. It stands on the beachfront with wonderful sunrise views and the silhouette of Lombok in the background. From the living room you can watch the fishing boats come ashore in the morning.

Each of the three bedrooms has its own ocean-facing terrace and a colourful en-suite bathroom with an outdoor shower for looking at the mountains and the stars. The lower bedrooms, Rosewood and Sandalwood, have king-size beds (twin beds on request). The upper Passion Flower Suite has an antique carved king-size bed, an ocean terrace and a bathroom with a copper bathtub and a large outdoor shower.

At the heart of the house is a large, breezy living and dining room for gathering and lounging, and the garden has its own private swimming pool with sun loungers. The Perfumed Garden is ideal for families, groups of friends and small retreats. It is a non-smoking house, inside and on the terraces (the roof is traditional alang-alang thatch).
